Why do I need a fire door inspector?

Simply put, it’s the law. Every building must remain in compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, frequently referred to as the “Fire Safety Order.” This order makes certain that all aspects of a business or a public premises are fire safe and ready to operate.

What does FDI+ inspect?

We’re fire door experts, inspecting all aspects to ensure that your fire doors comply to tested standards and are in line with the correct British standards, in keeping with Liverpool’s fire door regulations. These aspects include but not limited to hinges, fire and smoke seals, glazed apertures, door-to-frame gaps door closing devices, operational features and sealing methods used behind the architraves.

How many doors can we inspect in a day?

It depends very much on the building size and the type of survey we’re carrying out. Our non-intrusive surveys just involve looking at the door, without deconstructing any part of it. Our intrusive surveys, however, involve removing the door components, to see what the eye can’t – they take a little longer.

What happens after a survey?

After a survey, we provide a complete, detailed and photographic report on the current state of your fire doors, including recommendations on any potential repair work or remedial action that should be taken. We have excellent working relationships with ironmongers and door installation experts throughout the supply chain, who partner with us at FDI+, in order to help bring your fire doors back to the required standards.

Do we work out of hours?

Safety isn’t just important between 9 and 5, Monday to Friday. That’s why our engineers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure the fire safety of your premises.
